Since a long time "JASUD" has been supplying regular grades of HDPE and PP Sheets in Natural as well as Skin colour to various Orthotic & Prosthetic Aids manufacturing units across India and the quality is well established in the market especially in the Orthopaedic Aids manufacturing units.

Generally, a plastic sheet is heated and vacuum formed or draped onto a mould of plaster of paris to get the finished product - Orthotic or Prosthetic appliance. Since the mould is made as per customer specifics, it is very important that the sheet gets heated evenly, does not shrink and has a good setting time to get most of the contours of the mould specifically on the plastic appliance. Secondly it has to be flexible / rigid (as per requirement) as well as durable to make the customer comfortable once he/she wears the Orthotic or Prosthetic appliance.

Not satisfied by only offering the conventional grades of Sheets, the staff at "JASUD" remains in contact with various customers and regularly gets feedback from the customers as to how "JASUD" can improve its products to enhance the quality and smooth processing and to get maximum functional benefit from the end product. Today, for manufacturing "JASUD" Ortho Sheets, best processing technology is applied which ensures consistently processed sheets with added features like stress relieving of the sheets and, monitoring the finished sheets to verify -colour, gloss, thickness, flatness and surface aesthetics- ensures that a quality product is offered to the customer.

A brief explanation on the variant of the sheet, suggestions for application and the available sizes and thicknesses are as under:

"JASUD" Ortho - 'H' Sheets:

(Recommended for NON-WEIGHT BEARING Applications)

  • Made from a special blend with a high density semi-rigid material as a base polymer.
  • "JASUD" Ortho -'H' Sheet has a low co-efficient of friction combined with rigidity, yet it can be thermally heated and articles can be made using it. Even slight re-modifications as required, are possible, during the fitting stage.
  • Ortho - 'H' Sheets are recommended for non-weight bearing applications and are used to make rigid orthoses for the trunk and limbs, can also be used for making various splints, braces, jackets, supports, collars, belts, etc. (Ortho - 'H' Sheets are not recommended for use to make AFO's since the base material does not have the hinging property required for Dorsiflexion action / movement which a most required characteristic in an AFO).
  • Ortho - 'H' Sheets are generally available Ex-Stock in standard sheet size of 1000 mm X 2000 mm.
  • Natural is the standard colour offered for thicknesses ranging from 1 mm upto 15 mm whereas Skin colour sheets are offered in 2 mm, 3 mm and 5 mm thicknesses.

"JASUD" Ortho - 'Flex' (Regular) Sheets:

(Recommended for Applications where FLEXIBILITY / SOFTNESS is required)

  • Made from a special blend with a flexible base polymer.
  • "JASUD" Ortho - 'Flex' Sheet is very flexible, has a low co-efficient of friction combined with a soft feel.
  • Ortho - 'Flex' Sheets are recommended for applications where flexibility /softness is required in the articles, particularly suitable for making body jackets or thigh articles, to create flexible upper limb sockets (inner sockets) and can also be used for orthoses to make products wherever more flexibility is required for comfort.
  • Ortho - 'Flex' Sheets are especially made against specific orders in standard sheet size of 1000 mm X 2000 mm.
  • Natural is the standard colour offered for thicknesses ranging from 1 mm upto 12 mm.

"JASUD" Ortho - 'P' Sheets (Regular):

(Recommended for WEIGHT BEARING Applications)

  • Made from a special blend of raw materials having a special grade of Co-PP as a base polymer.
  • "JASUD" Ortho - 'P' Sheet can be considered ideal for a broad variety of orthotic and prosthetic applications where durability and thermoformability are important.
  • Ortho - 'P' Sheets are recommended for weight-bearing applications and can be used for making lower limb orthoses and seating systems moreover, this material with "good hinge property" is the most durable choice for making dorsiflexion assist AFO's and similar articles.
  • Ortho - 'P' Sheets can also be used to make definitive or preparatory upper and lower limb prosthetic sockets, various body jackets and spinal supports, and a variety of weight bearing lower and upper limb orthoses.

The other specialties of Ortho - 'P' Sheets are us under: -

  • Extra translucent sheets to help check the pressure points during the fitting stage.
  • Made from a modified grade of Co-PP material which helps in reduction of white patches occurring onto the article, in turn giving an additional advantage of cosmetic appearance. (The white patch mark is a highly common problem with the regular Co-PP sheets.)
  • The modified grade of Co-PP has better impact strength which gives an advantage of extra life cycle to the article.
  • Ortho - 'P' Sheets are generally available Ex-Stock in sheet sizes of 1000 mm X 2000 mm. Can also be made available in 1220 mm / 1250 mm (width) X 2000 mm (length) against specific order quantities.
  • Natural is the standard colour offered for thicknesses ranging from 1 mm upto 15 mm whereas Skin colour sheets are offered in 2 mm, 3 mm, 4 mm and 5 mm thicknesses.
